The rules relating to the deposit of communal archives are laid down by the provisions of the articles L. 212-11 à L. 212-14 du code du patrimoine.
The rules relating to the right of pre-emption over private archives exercised by the State on behalf of and at the request of local authorities are laid down by the provisions of articles L. 212-34 à L. 212-36 du code du patrimoine.
