Any person who makes a particular noise, other than those covered by article R. 1337-6, that is likely to cause a nuisance to the peace and quiet of the neighbourhood or to human health under the conditions set out in article R. 1336-5 is liable to a fine for a fourth-class offence.

Natural persons guilty of the offences provided for in articles R. 1337-6 and R. 1337-7 are also liable to the additional penalty of confiscation of the thing that was used or intended to be used to commit the offence or of the thing that is the product of the offence.

Knowingly facilitating, by aid or assistance, the preparation or consumption of the offences referred to in articles R. 1337-6 and R. 1337-7 is punishable by the same penalties.

Legal entities held criminally liable, under the conditions set out in article 121-2 of the French Criminal Code, for the offences defined in this section shall be liable, in addition to a fine as set out in article 131-41 of the French Criminal Code, to confiscation of the thing that was used or intended to be used to commit the offence or of the thing that is the product of…

Repeated offences under article R. 1337-6 are punishable in accordance with the provisions of articles 132-11 and 132-15 of the French Penal Code.

In addition to the officers mentioned in article R. 1312-1 , under the conditions set out in articles R. 1312-2 to R. 1312-7, other municipal officers are authorised to record and investigate neighbourhood noise offences under the conditions set out in articles R. 571-92 to R. 571-93 of the Environment Code.
