Section 3: Technical operating conditions.

The facilities are architecturally and functionally designed in such a way as to guarantee the necessary hygiene and aseptic conditions for each resident, as well as respect for their privacy and dignity.

Cosmetic surgery facilities are separate from all residential, commercial or industrial premises and do not communicate with these premises. The areas mentioned in 2° to 4° of article D. 6322-33 and the premises mentioned in 1° of article D. 6322-34 are sufficiently insulated to ensure health safety, hygiene and, if necessary, asepsis.

The facilities comprise : 1° A reception area ; 2° A full-time or part-time hospitalisation area; 3° An operating area, including at least one post-intervention monitoring room; 4° Possibly, an area for preparing and serving meals.

The facilities also include : 1° Where they are not served by the pharmacy for internal use, lockable premises or cupboards for holding medicines, other pharmaceutical products and sterile or non-sterile medical devices; 2° Technical cleaning rooms; 3° Equipment storage rooms; 4° Storage rooms for soiled materials and storage rooms for the healthcare waste mentioned in article R. 1335-7. These premises are lockable.

In cosmetic surgery facilities located in a health care establishment, the areas mentioned in article D. 6322-33 and the premises mentioned in article D. 6322-34 may be shared with those available to the establishment for the provision of the care it provides pursuant to articles L. 6111-1 and L. 6111-2. The reception area provided for in Article D. 6322-33 includes a reception, a secretariat, one or more medical consultation desks and a waiting room.

When the holder of the authorisation for cosmetic surgery facilities is not a public health establishment, the hospitalisation zone provided for in article D. 6322-33 complies with the provisions of articles D. 6124-404 and D. 6124-478 to D. 6124-481.

Each patient’s bed or chair is equipped with a medical fluid inlet and a vacuum suction system.

The hospital premises also include a nursing room on each floor.

When the holder of the authorisation relating to cosmetic surgery facilities is not a public health establishment, the operating area provided for in article D. 6322-33 complies with the provisions of 1° of article D. 6124-402 and articles D. 6124-403, D. 6124-405 and D. 6124-408 .
