Health centres are open to anyone wishing to be seen for a consultation or to receive preventive, investigative, medical, paramedical or dental care. Healthcare professionals practising within health centres may go to patients’ homes, as defined in article L. 6111-1, when their condition so requires for medical professionals and nurses practising in advanced practice under the conditions provided for in article R. 4301-3 and on medical prescription for other healthcare professionals.

The care provided in health centres allows patients to return home immediately without the need for monitoring at the health centre or after returning home. Health centres set up reception facilities with and without appointment. The days and hours of opening, duty and consultation, the prices charged, the referral system in the event of closure and the main operating conditions useful to the public are clearly displayed inside and outside the health centres.

For each patient cared for in a health centre, a file containing all the health information required for diagnostic and therapeutic decisions is compiled in compliance with the confidentiality and ethical rules specific to the health professionals concerned. The file includes the identification of the patient as well as, where applicable, that of the trusted support person defined in article L. 1111-6 and that of the person to be notified….

Health centres are responsible for the storage and confidentiality of personal health information held within them.

Health centres have premises and equipment to ensure that patients are accessible, safe and hygienic in accordance with current standards.

The health project and the commitment to compliance referred to in article L. 6323-1-11 are sent to the Director General of the Regional Health Agency by any means that confers a date of receipt.
