Section 2: Disposal of anatomical parts.

Anatomical parts are organs or limbs, easily identifiable by a non-specialist, collected in the course of healthcare activities or activities determined in the last paragraph of article R. 1335-1.

Articles R. 1335-2 to R. 1335-7 apply to the disposal of anatomical parts.

Human anatomical parts intended for abandonment must be cremated. Cremation takes place in a crematorium authorised in accordance with article L. 2223-40 of the General Local Authorities Code and whose manager holds the authorisation provided for in article L. 2223-41 of this Code. Anatomical parts of animal origin intended for abandonment are sent to rendering plants in accordance with the provisions of the French Rural and Maritime Fishing Code.
