The mayor is solely responsible for administration, but may, under his supervision and responsibility, delegate part of his duties by decree to one or more of his deputies and to members of the municipal council. The deputy district councillor is responsible for all matters relating primarily to the district or districts for which he or she is responsible. He/she ensures that residents are kept informed and encourages their participation in neighbourhood life.

The mayor may grant, under his supervision and responsibility, by order, delegation of signature: 1° To the director general of services and the deputy director general of town hall services; 2° To the director general and the director of technical services; 3° To the heads of communal services.

Delegations granted by the mayor pursuant to articles L. 2122-18 and L. 2122-19 remain in force until they are repealed.
