The first meeting of the Regional Council is held ipso jure on the first Friday following its election. The Regional Council meets at the initiative of its Chairman, at least once every three months, at a location in the region chosen by the Standing Committee.

The regional council is also convened at the request of: 1° The standing committee; 2° Or one third of its members on a specific agenda, for a period that may not exceed two days. The same regional councillor may not submit more than one request for a meeting per half-year. In exceptional circumstances, regional councils may be convened by decree.

The chairman may decide that the regional council meeting is to be held in several places by videoconference. Where the regional council meeting is held by videoconference, the quorum shall be assessed on the basis of the presence of the regional councillors in the various places by videoconference.
