Subsection 2: Coordination of regional cooperation between the French West Indies and French Guiana

The consultation body established by article L. 4433-4-7 is called the Antilles-Guyane regional cooperation conference. The conference is informed of the cooperation policies and programmes conducted by the State and the local authorities. It shall examine actions to coordinate these policies and programmes.

The conference is chaired by a delegate for regional cooperation in the Antilles-Guyane zone, appointed by decree. It is made up of members of the management committees of the regional cooperation funds of Guadeloupe, French Guiana and Martinique, as well as representatives of the territorial councils of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, appointed respectively by the presidents of each of the territorial councils. The conference meets when convened by its chairman, who sets the agenda after consulting the management committees. The secretariat of the conference is provided by the services of the prefect of the Guadeloupe region.

The delegate facilitates the coordination of State and local authority actions carried out in the context of regional cooperation in the Antilles-Guyane zone. He contributes to the dissemination of information relating to actions carried out in this zone.
