Subsection 5: Relations between training supervisors and trainees.

The pharmacists concerned have a duty to prepare for their role as training supervisor by improving their knowledge and acquiring adequate resources. No pharmacist can claim to train a trainee if he or she is not in a position to provide this training himself or herself.

The supervising pharmacist undertakes to provide the trainee with practical training by involving him in all of his activities. He must endeavour to set an example of professional qualities and respect for professional ethics.

Training supervisors remind their trainees of their obligations, in particular the obligation to respect professional secrecy with regard to facts that come to light during the training period.

The training supervisor has authority over his trainee. Disputes between training supervisors and trainees are brought to the attention of the President of the relevant Association Council, with the exception of those relating to university teaching.

The provisions of article R. 4235-37 are applicable to former trainees who have become pharmacists.
