Subsection 1: Holders of the state diploma

The State Occupational Therapist Diploma is awarded by the regional prefect to people who have completed a course of training and passed the theoretical and practical courses, as well as the work placements that make up the training. This diploma may be obtained by validating experience, the organisational procedures for which are laid down by order of the Minister for Health.

The course lasts three years. The conditions under which exemptions from teaching, training periods and tests may be granted by way of derogation from the provisions of article D. 4331-6 are set by order of the Minister for Health.

The amount of the annual registration fees required of candidates for the State diploma in occupational therapy studying in a training institute belonging to a public health establishment is set by order of the Minister for Health.

The occupational therapy training institutes authorised to provide education leading to the state diploma are responsible for implementing the admission procedures under the supervision of the directors general of the regional health agency in whose area they are located. If requests for exemption from the courses and tests mentioned in article D. 4331-4 remain unanswered for more than four months, they will be deemed to have been rejected.
