Paragraph 2: Moulding (R).

Except in the case provided for in Article R. 2213-6, it is forbidden to cast a corpse: – before the expiry of a period of twenty-four hours from the declaration of death to the town hall; – and without a prior written declaration made, by any means, to the mayor of the commune where the operation is carried out.

When the casting of a corpse is necessary before the expiry of the twenty-four hour time limit, the prior declaration is subject to the possession of a certificate drawn up by a doctor, stating that signs of decomposition make the operation necessary before the prescribed time limits.
