The doctor may object to the transport of the body before committal when the condition of the body does not allow such transport. He shall immediately notify the family and, if applicable, the director of the establishment in writing.

When the body is transported before committal outside the commune of the place of death or deposit, a copy of the declaration of transport is immediately sent, by any means, to the mayor of the commune where the body is transported.

Unless there are derogatory provisions, body transport operations prior to committal of the body of a deceased person shall be completed within a maximum period of forty-eight hours from the date of death.
