The medical team at the emergency facility includes a sufficient number of nurses to ensure that at least one of them is present at all times.
Where justified by the activity of the emergency unit, the team also includes a nurse who is responsible for receiving and organising patient care. This nurse implements the referral protocols delegated by the doctor present in the facility and coordinates the patient’s care, if necessary until the patient is hospitalised.
Where justified by the activity of the emergency unit, the team also includes nursery nurses, care assistants and, where appropriate, childcare assistants and qualified hospital service staff. Where necessary, the team includes stretcher-bearers.
The team has an admissions officer as required.
A social service assistant is assigned all or part of his/her time to the emergency department. In particular, he is responsible for implementing the provisions of article R. 6123-22.
