Article D6124-71 of the French Public Health Code

The haemodialysis centre for children, defined in article R. 6123-61, has between two and eight stations. The centre also has at least one back-up haemodialysis machine per group of four treatment units installed, reserved exclusively for this purpose. The same haemodialysis station cannot be used for more than three children per twenty-four hours. The haemodialysis centre is able to accommodate children who are travelling or on holiday.

Article D6124-72 of the French Public Health Code

The centre has a medical team that ensures the permanent presence on site of a paediatrician, or a nephrologist practising in paediatrics, throughout the dialysis sessions. At least two of these paediatricians are qualified or competent in paediatrics and have at least two years’ professional experience in a university paediatric nephrology department. Outside the centre’s opening hours, a paediatrician from the above-mentioned medical team is on call.
