Paragraph 4: Specific conditions for haematopoietic cell transplants in paediatrics

The transplanted child is hospitalised in a dedicated sector of a paediatric unit or in an individualised area with a paediatric environment within the hospitalisation sector mentioned in article R. 6123-77. The healthcare establishment’s organisation allows parents to be present with the child.

In the authorised establishments and in liaison with their director, the medical managers of the transplant activities and those of the paediatric or specialised paediatric intensive care units mentioned in article R. 6123-38-1 draw up agreements defining the resources and procedures for the care of children.

Article D6124-175 of the French Public Health Code

The staff mentioned in article D. 6124-170 include at least one paediatrician with at least two years’ training in a unit providing haematopoietic cell transplants. The nursing and paramedical staff are experienced in caring for children undergoing transplants and include at least one nursery nurse.
