Paragraph 6: Availability.

Hospital practitioners may be placed on standby either automatically, in the cases provided for in articles R. 6152-37 to R. 6152-39, R. 6152-42, R. 6152-50-5, R. 6152-59, R. 6152-61 and R. 6152-68, or at their request. Hospital practitioners who are temporarily banned from practising the profession of doctor, pharmacist or from providing care to the socially insured are placed on compulsory leave for the duration of this ban.

The period of compulsory leave may not exceed one year. It is renewable up to a maximum of three years in total.

The position vacated by a practitioner placed on non-active status is declared vacant when the period of non-active status exceeds six months.
