Article R6123-23 of the French Public Health Code

The establishment keeps a continuous chronological register in the emergency department, showing the identity of patients admitted, the day, time and method of their arrival, their referral or hospitalisation, and the day and time of discharge or transfer outside the emergency department. Article R6123-24 of the French Public Health Code

A form, the model for which is approved by the Minister for Health, is drawn up by the emergency department and sent to the director of the establishment to report any malfunction observed in the organisation of care or in the referral of patients. Article R6123-25 of the French Public Health Code

Only health establishments authorised to carry out the activity mentioned in 3° of article R. 6123-1 inform the public that they provide emergency services and display an “emergency” sign. In the case of an establishment authorised to operate an emergency facility for part of the year only, the periods of operation must be indicated. Only healthcare establishments authorised to operate a paediatric emergency facility display a “paediatric emergencies” sign.
