Subsection 1: Powers, composition and mandate

The committee responsible for issuing the professional journalists’ identity card shall have equal representation. It comprises: 1° Eight employer representatives, including: a) Seven from newspaper and press agency managers; b) One from audiovisual communication companies; 2° Eight representatives of professional journalists.

Commission members must have practised their profession for at least two of the five years preceding their appointment or election. They must not have been banned, disqualified or disqualified from exercising their civic rights.

The term of office for appointed and elected members of the committee is three years, renewable. It expires at the same time for both categories.
