Subsection 2: Amendments and cancellations

The holder of a professional journalist’s identity card who ceases to be employed in the publications, press agencies or audiovisual communication companies to which he or she was attached at the time the identity card was issued, shall refer the matter to the Commission. The Professional Journalists Identity Card Committee may cancel a card. Before doing so, the chairman of the commission summons the holder to appear before it by registered letter. The holder, who may be assisted by counsel, presents his or her explanations. If the holder does not appear, he or she may submit written explanations to the committee.

The person concerned will be notified of the committee’s decision to cancel the card by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt.
