Section 1: Scope and definitions.

The provisions of this chapter apply to workers who habitually use work equipment incorporating visual display screens for a significant proportion of their working time. For the purposes of this chapter, a display screen means an alphanumeric or graphic screen, regardless of the display method used. Workstation” means the assembly comprising work equipment including a display screen, a keyboard or data entry device, peripherals, a seat and a table or work surface, as well as the immediate work environment.
