It is forbidden to allow workers to take their meals on work premises.

In establishments with at least fifty employees, the employer, after consulting the social and economic committee, provides them with catering facilities. After each meal, the employer shall ensure that the catering area or eating area and the equipment installed there are cleaned.

In the absence of a rest area, when the nature of the activities so requires and after consulting the social and economic committee, the catering area or the place where meals can be taken must be able to be used as a rest area or place outside meal times. Seats provided for this purpose must have backrests.
