Home | French Legislation Articles | Part four: Health and safety at work | Book II: Provisions applicable to workplaces | Title II: Employer's obligations regarding use of the workplace | Chapter V: Workstation layout | Section 2: Comfort at the workplace
The employer shall provide workers with fresh drinking water.
Where special working conditions require workers to drink frequently, the employer shall provide them with at least one non-alcoholic drink free of charge. The list of workstations concerned is drawn up by the employer, after consulting the occupational physician and the social and economic committee. The drinks and flavourings made available are chosen taking into account the wishes expressed by the employees and after consulting the occupational physician.
The employer shall determine the location of the drinks dispensing stations, close to the workstations and in a place that meets all hygiene requirements. The employer shall ensure that the dispensing equipment is maintained and in good working order, that the drinks are well preserved and that any contamination is avoided.
A suitable seat is provided for each worker at or near his or her workstation.
