Section 5: Accessibility of workplaces for disabled workers

Workplaces, including ancillary premises, in a new building or in the new part of an existing building are accessible to disabled people, regardless of their disability. Accesses, doors, corridors and lifts serving workstations and ancillary premises such as sanitary facilities, catering facilities and car parks are designed to allow disabled people, particularly wheelchair users, to enter and leave the premises. Workstations are adapted or made possible at a later date.

An order by the ministers responsible for labour, agriculture and construction sets out the implementation procedures for ensuring accessibility to workplaces, in particular with regard to horizontal and vertical circulation, doors and internal locks, floor and wall coverings, lighting and information systems, and car parking.
