Section 5: Work involving exposure to dangerous chemical agents

It is forbidden to employ pregnant or breast-feeding women in the following work and to allow them to work on a regular basis in the premises assigned to this work: 1° Preparation and packaging of thiophosphoric esters; 2° Use of mercury and its compounds in secreting work in the hair-cutting industry.

It is prohibited to assign or maintain pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers in workstations exposing them to the following chemical agents: 1° Chemical agents that meet the criteria for classification as toxic for reproduction category 1A, 1B, or additional category for effects on or via breastfeeding as defined in Annex I of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 16 December 2008; 2° Benzene;…

The employer shall inform women of the potentially harmful effects of exposure to certain chemical substances on fertility, the embryo, the foetus or the child under the conditions set out in Article R. 4412-89.
