Section 3: Work involving exposure to radiation

A pregnant woman exposed to ionising radiation who has declared her pregnancy shall be informed of the temporary assignment measures provided for in Article L. 1225-7 and of the protective provisions provided for in this section.

When a pregnant woman is kept in a position exposing her to ionising radiation, the employer must ensure compliance with the exposure limit values set in 2° of Article R. 4451-6 for organs or tissues.

It is prohibited to assign or maintain a pregnant woman in a workstation requiring a category A classification within the meaning of Article R. 4451-57.

It is forbidden to assign or maintain a breastfeeding woman at a workstation involving a risk of internal exposure to ionising radiation.

When a pregnant woman is exposed to electromagnetic fields in the course of her work, her exposure is kept as low as reasonably achievable, taking into account existing recommendations for good practice, and in any case below the limit values for public exposure to electromagnetic fields.
