Article R4321-51 of the French Public Health Code

The provisions of this Code of Ethics apply to masseur-physiotherapists registered with the Association and to masseur-physiotherapists practising a professional act under the conditions set out in articles L. 4321-1, L. 4321-2 and L. 4321-4. In accordance with article L. 4321-14, the order of masseur-physiotherapists is responsible for ensuring compliance with these provisions. Infringements of these provisions are subject to the Order’s disciplinary jurisdiction.

Article R4321-52 of the French Public Health Code

The provisions of sub-sections 1 and 2 of this code also apply to the physiotherapy students mentioned in article L. 4321-3. Infringements of these provisions are the responsibility of the disciplinary bodies of the training establishments and organisations in which these students are registered.

Article R4321-55 of the French Public Health Code

The professional secrecy instituted in the interest of patients is binding on the masseur-physiotherapist and the physiotherapy student under the conditions established by articles L. 1110-4 and L. 4323-3 respectively. Secrecy covers everything that comes to the knowledge of the masseur-physiotherapist in the exercise of his profession, i.e. not only what has been entrusted to him, but also what he has seen, heard or understood.
