Sub-paragraph 1: Communication and registration of documents

Extracts from the trade and companies register are issued by the registrars in accordance with a model approved by order of the Minister of Justice. They may either be printed, or automatically edited with the same headings as the form arranged in the same order, or result from the duplication of the application for registration and, in any event, include the signature of the registrar.

Copies of the trade and companies register may be issued electronically. In this case, it is specified that only a signed document is authentic. For this issue the registrars shall comply with the provisions of article R. 741-5 and the Institut national de la propriété industrielle to those of article R. 123-153.

Subject to the provisions of article R. 123-154, registrars and the Institut national de la propriété industrielle are entitled to respond to requests relating to cancelled registrations. However, after a period of five years, the National Institute of Industrial Property may only keep the documents on a reliable and durable alternative medium.

Subject to the provisions of Article R. 123-154-1, the Institut national de la propriété industrielle and the Registries shall issue information on accounting documents in the form of copies or communication. However, for accounting documents prior to those drawn up in respect of the last five financial years, such information shall only be issued by the National Institute of Industrial Property in the form of extracts.

Requests for information relating to the future status of files may be made by subscription. They entail the issue of an extract or a copy, either at regular intervals, the frequency of which may not be less than fifteen days, or on the occasion of any entry whether made automatically or on declaration.

The registrars and the National Institute of Industrial Property are authorised to respond to any statistical requests.

The National Institute of Industrial Property does not issue information on registrations and other registrations made before 1 March 1954.

The Institut national de la propriété industrielle issues information on registrations and other related operations concerning the Algerian trade registers until 30 June 1962.
