Article R5134-61 of the French Labour Code

As soon as the application for employability assistance is submitted, the employer must appoint a tutor from among the employees who are qualified and willing to take on this role. The tutor must have at least two years’ professional experience. Exceptionally, with the authorisation of the authority awarding the aid, the employer may provide the tutoring himself. The tutor may not supervise more than three employees on an initiative-employment contract.

Article R5134-62 of the French Labour Code

The tutor’s tasks are as follows: 1° Take part in welcoming, helping, informing and guiding the employee on an initiative-employment contract; 2° Contribute to the acquisition of professional skills; 3° Liaise with the referent mentioned in article R. 5134-60 ; 4° Participate in drawing up the certificate of professional experience provided for in article L. 5134-70-2 with the employee concerned and the employer.
