Subsection 1: Organisation and operation

Assistance publique-hôpitaux de Paris, Hospices civils de Lyon and Assistance publique-hôpitaux de Marseille are headed by a Chief Executive Officer. The Chief Executive of Assistance publique-hôpitaux de Paris is assisted by three Deputy Chief Executives. The Director General of Hospices civils de Lyon and the Director General of Assistance publique-hôpitaux de Marseille are each assisted by two Deputy Directors General and a Secretary General.

I. – The Management Board of Assistance publique – hôpitaux de Paris is composed of the following members: 1° The Director General, Chairman of the Executive Board ; 2° The president of the medical commission, first vice-president, in charge of medical affairs; 3° The Vice-President Dean, appointed by the Chief Executive Officer from among the directors of the medical training and research units of the Ile-de-France universities, on the joint…

For the internal organisation of the institution, the Chief Executive Officer may, after consultation with the Management Board: 1° Set up a group of hospitals under the same management ; 2° Create clusters other than those mentioned in article L. 6146-1, called “clusters of common interest”.

The Chief Executive may delegate his signature to the Deputy Chief Executives, to the Director of a Pôle d’Intérêt Commun, to the Director of a hospital group and to the Director of a hospital that is not part of a group.
