Section 4: Authorisation to practise for holders of training qualifications obtained in the province of Quebec

Pharmacists holding evidence of formal qualifications obtained in the province of Quebec must send an application for authorisation to practise in application of article L. 4221-7 by registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt to the Conseil national de l’ordre des pharmaciens. The application form and the list of documents to be provided in support of their application are set by order of the Minister for Health.

The Conseil national de l’ordre will acknowledge receipt of the application within one month of its receipt. It will inform the applicant of any missing documents and of the obligation to complete a full-time training period of six months, renewable once.

When the training period is carried out in a structure or organisation approved for the training of students in the third cycle of pharmacy studies, candidates are assigned by decision of the Director General of the Centre national de gestion.

The traineeship is the subject of an assessment report, the model for which is set by order of the Minister for Health. The report is sent to the Conseil national de l’ordre des pharmaciens with a copy to the interested party.

The Conseil national de l’ordre will forward the complete file, including the assessment report, together with its opinion, to the Minister for Health, who will decide on the application for authorisation to practise.
