The Department of Mayotte comprises Grande-Terre la Petite-Terre and the other islands and islets situated in the reef surrounding them. It is part of the Republic and may not cease to belong to it without the consent of its population.
Decisions taken by the Department of Mayotte pursuant to Article L. 4433-15-1 of this Code and Articles 68-21 and 68-22 of the Mining Code are subject to the provisions of Article L. 3131-1.
