Section 3: Archaeology

In application of the provisions of Article L. 1421-7, the rules relating to the archaeological services of local authorities are laid down by the provisions of article R. 522-2 and articles R. 523-24 to R. 523-29 of the Heritage Code.

The rules governing the transfer of ownership free of charge of movable objects resulting from a preventive archaeology excavation to a territorial authority or group of authorities on whose territory the objects were discovered are set by the provisions of articles R. 523-67 and R. 523-68 of the Heritage Code.
