Section 2: Resignation and dissolution

When a councillor to the Assembly of French Guyana tenders his resignation, he shall send it to the President of the Assembly of French Guyana who shall immediately notify the representative of the State in the territorial collectivity.

Any councillor to the Assembly of French Guyana who, without a valid excuse, has refused to carry out one of the functions devolved upon him by the laws shall be declared to have resigned by the Council of State. When the functioning of the Assembly of French Guyana proves impossible, the Government may pronounce its dissolution by reasoned decree taken in the Council of Ministers; it shall inform Parliament of this as soon as possible. Dissolution may never be pronounced by way of a general measure.

In the event of the dissolution of the Assembly of French Guyana, the resignation of all the councillors in office or the definitive annulment of the election of all the councillors, the President shall be responsible for the conduct of current business.
