Section 2: Resignation and dissolution

When a councillor to the Martinique Assembly resigns, he shall send his resignation to the President of the Martinique Assembly, who shall immediately notify the representative of the State in the territorial collectivity.

Any councillor to the Assembly of Martinique who, without a valid excuse, has refused to carry out one of the functions devolved upon him by the laws shall be declared to have resigned by the Council of State. When the functioning of the Assembly of Martinique proves impossible, the Government may pronounce its dissolution by reasoned decree taken in the Council of Ministers; it shall inform Parliament of this as soon as possible. Dissolution may never be pronounced by way of a general measure.

In the event of the dissolution of the Martinique Assembly, the resignation of all the sitting councillors or the definitive annulment of the election of all the councillors, the President of the Executive Council is responsible for current affairs.
