The courts referred to in article 697 shall hear crimes and misdemeanours committed on the territory of the Republic by military personnel in the performance of their duties. The specialized military courts mentioned in article 697, within whose jurisdiction is located either the home port of a naval vessel, or the home airfield of a military aircraft, have jurisdiction over any offence committed on board or against that ship or aircraft, wherever it may be.
