Subsection 1: Tests to verify knowledge

The tests to verify the knowledge referred to in article L. 4221-12, which are written and anonymous, comprise, for pharmacy and, where appropriate, for medical biology : 1° A test of fundamental knowledge ; 2° A test of practical knowledge. An order of the Minister for Health sets the organisational procedures for the knowledge verification tests.

For each session, an order by the Minister for Health decides on the organisation of tests in pharmacy and medical biology and determines the number of places available and the list of host structures proposed for the skills consolidation courses provided for in the penultimate paragraph of article L. 4221-12. A national jury is responsible for drawing up the subjects and marking the tests for pharmacy and medical biology.

The jury is formed by drawing lots, in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the ministers responsible for health and higher education. For pharmacy and medical biology, the jury draws up a list in order of merit of the successful candidates, within the limit of the maximum number of persons who may be admitted to the knowledge verification tests mentioned in article D. 4221-7. Proof of sufficient proficiency in the French language as referred to in article L. 4221-12 must be provided when registering for the knowledge verification tests referred to in the second paragraph of the same article, by obtaining one of the qualifications provided for by order of the Minister for Health. Applicants of French nationality and foreign residents are exempt from this requirement.

The skills consolidation course provided for in the penultimate paragraph of article L. 4221-12 is completed on a full-time basis, in a host structure listed in the order referred to in article R. 4221-7-1, where applicable in the medical biology speciality, for a period of two years.
