In the event that a nurse is questioned in the course of disciplinary proceedings, he or she is required, to the extent compatible with respect for professional secrecy, to reveal any facts of use to the investigation that come to his or her knowledge. Any deliberately inaccurate statement may itself give rise to disciplinary proceedings.

Nurses are prohibited from improperly taking credit for a scientific discovery, particularly in a publication.

Nurses must, in the interests of patients, maintain good relations with members of other health professions. They shall respect the professional independence of those professions. Nurses are prohibited from slandering another health professional, casting aspersions on him or her or echoing comments likely to harm him or her in the exercise of his or her profession.

Nurses are prohibited from accepting a commission for any professional act whatsoever. Nurses are forbidden to engage in any form of competition with other health professionals or any other natural or legal person. Competition is understood to mean intelligence between two or more persons with a view to obtaining advantages to the detriment of the patient or a third party. Except in the cases provided for in the contracts validated by the Conseil Départemental de l’Ordre and subject to the provisions of article L. 4312-15, the sharing of fees between nurses or between a nurse and another healthcare professional is prohibited.
