Complementary examinations are the responsibility of the employer when he has an independent occupational health and prevention service and of the inter-company occupational health and prevention service in other cases. The occupational physician carries out or arranges for these examinations to be carried out within the occupational health and prevention service, or chooses the organisation responsible for carrying out the examinations. As part of the monitoring of night workers, the occupational physician may prescribe additional specialised examinations, if he or she deems it useful, at the expense of the employer.

In the event of disagreement between the employer and the company doctor over the nature and frequency of these examinations, the decision is taken by the company doctor.
