Sub-paragraph 1: Economic Commission

In the absence of an agreement as provided for in Article L. 2315-45, in undertakings with at least one thousand employees, an economic committee is set up within the social and economic committee or the central social and economic committee. This committee is responsible in particular for studying the economic and financial documents collected by the committee and any questions submitted to it by the latter.

The committee is chaired by the employer or his representative. The Economic Committee comprises a maximum of five employee representatives, including at least one representative from the management category. They are appointed by the Social and Economic Committee or the Central Social and Economic Committee from among their members.

The Economic Committee meets at least twice a year. It may ask to hear any senior manager or director of the company with the agreement of the employer. It may be assisted by the Chartered Accountant who assists the Social and Economic Committee and by experts chosen by the Committee under the conditions set out in sub-section 10.
