The reference level for radon activity concentration in air is 300 becquerels per cubic metre as an annual average.
I.-In a radiological emergency, the reference level is set at 100 millisieverts for the effective dose likely to be received by a worker in such a situation. II – In exceptional situations, to save lives, prevent serious radiation-induced health effects or prevent the occurrence of catastrophic situations, the reference level for a radiological emergency is set at 500 millisieverts for an effective dose resulting from external exposure.
