Section 2: Hospital duties for medical students.

The university hospital centres to which they are attached, which are responsible for the remuneration of all the medical students mentioned in article R. 6153-46, pay them a salary throughout their training, with the exception of the period of study abroad and the internship carried out as an intern, as provided for in the fourth and eighth paragraphs of article R. 6153-47 respectively.

The training periods mentioned in article R. 6153-47, with the exception of the period of study abroad and the training period carried out as an intern, carried out outside the university hospital centre to which they are attached, are organised by agreements concluded in accordance with the procedures laid down by order of the ministers responsible for the budget, higher education, health and, where applicable, defence.

The provisions of articles R. 6142-4 and R. 6142-30 do not apply to the agreements relating to the organisation of hospital placements provided for in article R. 6153-60. These agreements determine their period of application and the conditions for their revision. They are periodically evaluated by the signatory parties.

In order to exercise their trade union rights, which are recognised in their capacity as public servants, medical students may set up, join and hold office in trade union organisations. They may not suffer any prejudice or benefit from any advantages because of their trade union commitments.
