Subsection 3: Installation and operation of internal-use pharmacies

An in-house pharmacy may be authorised to have premises located on several separate sites belonging to one or more of the establishments, services or organisations mentioned in Article R. 5126-1, provided that the quality and safety of the response to the pharmaceutical needs of the people it cares for are guaranteed.

The design, surface area, layout and layout of the premises of the internal-use pharmacy are appropriate to the tasks and activities for which the pharmacy is responsible. These premises are easily accessible to facilitate the delivery and receipt of products. The premises are installed and equipped in such a way as to ensure the proper storage, monitoring and, if necessary, withdrawal of the medicinal products, products or articles mentioned in Articles L. 4211-1 and L. 5137-2 as well as sterile medical devices held in the pharmacy, as well as their safety and that of the staff concerned.

The internal-use pharmacy may only operate at each of its sites in the presence of the pharmacist in charge or his replacement or an assistant pharmacist mentioned in article R. 5125-34 practising in this pharmacy.

Pharmacists working in the internal-use pharmacies of the establishments, services or organisations mentioned in Article R. 5126-1 shall inform the operator defined in 3° of Article R. 5124-2, in particular via the emergency call centres or any equivalent system mentioned in Article R. 5124-49-1, of supply shortages for a medicinal product which they supply and which they have not already been informed of by the operator or by the Agence…
