Chapter I: Emergency medical aid.

The purpose of emergency medical assistance is, where necessary with the assistance of the fire and rescue services as part of their rescue operations, to ensure that the sick, injured and pregnant women, wherever they may be, receive emergency care appropriate to their condition.

Only health establishments may be authorised, in accordance with Chapter II of Title II of Book I of this Part, to have one or more units participating in the emergency medical assistance service, the tasks and organisation of which are laid down by regulation.
