Chapter III: The Registry

The delivery to the court registry of a copy of a pleading or document is recorded by mentioning the date of delivery and the court registrar’s endorsement on the copy as well as on the original, which is immediately returned.

The copy of the application shall, as soon as it is delivered to the registry, be presented by the registrar to the president of the court with a view to the formalities of fixing and distribution. The president’s decision is simply noted in the margin of the copy.

The case file is kept and updated by the clerk of the chamber to which the case has been distributed. A record shall be drawn up enabling the status of the case to be ascertained at any time.

In the case provided for in Article 840, the copies of the application and of the exhibits delivered to the President shall, together with a copy of his order, be placed by the Registrar in the file, as soon as it is constituted.
