Article L7124-32 of the French Labour Code

Any person practising one of the professions referred to in article L. 7124-16 who, in breach of the provisions of article L. 7124-18, does not carry an extract from the birth certificates of children placed under his or her authority and does not provide proof of their origin and identity by producing a passport, is liable to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of €3,750.

Article L7124-34 of the French Labour Code

In the event of an infringement of the provisions concerning child labour set out in this chapter, the court may, depending on the circumstances and only in the event of a repeat offence, order that the judgment be displayed. In the same case, the court may also order that the judgment be published, at the offender’s expense, in one or more newspapers in the département.

Article L7124-35 of the French Labour Code

The penalties for offences relating to child labour are not applicable where the offence was the result of an error arising from the production of birth certificates, booklets or certificates containing false information or issued for another person.
