Article L425-6 of the French Code governing the entry and residence of foreign nationals and the right of asylum

A foreign national who has been granted a protection order under article 515-9 of the French Civil Code, due to violence within the couple or by a former spouse, a former partner in a civil solidarity pact or a former cohabitee, will be issued with a one-year temporary residence permit for “private and family life” as soon as possible.
