Subsection 1: Foreign nationals employed under open-ended employment contracts

A foreign national who works as an employee under a permanent employment contract is issued with a temporary residence permit marked “employee” for a maximum period of one year. The issue of this residence permit is subject to prior possession of a work permit, under the conditions set out in articles L. 5221-2 et seq. of the Labour Code.

By way of derogation from article L. 433-6, a foreign national applying for the issue of a multi-annual residence permit bearing the wording “employee” and who holds a residence permit issued for another reason will benefit from a one-year temporary residence permit bearing the wording requested when the conditions for the issue of this permit are met.
