Subsection 2: Means test

The mayor has two months from receipt of the application to check whether the income and housing conditions set out in 1° and 2° of article L. 434-7 have been met. To proceed with the verification of the resource conditions mentioned in article R. 434-4, the mayor examines the supporting documents mentioned in article R. 434-11.

The mayor and the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration may, if necessary, refer the matter to the competent regional directorate for business, competition, consumer affairs, labour and employment with a request for an investigation into the employment that provides the applicant for family reunification with all or part of the resources he or she claims.
