Section 2: Submitting the application

The foreign national applies to the Office français de l’immigration et de l’intégration. The territorially competent prefect or, in Paris, the police prefect is immediately informed.An order of the minister responsible for immigration sets the territorial jurisdiction of the Office’s departments.

The application for family reunification shall include a list of all the family members designated in Articles L. 434-2, L. 434-3 and L. 434-4.

If only partial reunification is requested, the application must include, in addition to the information mentioned in articles R. 434-8 and R. 434-9:1° A statement of the reasons, relating in particular to the health or schooling of the child(ren) or to the family’s housing conditions, which justify, with regard to the interests of the child(ren), that family reunification is not requested for the whole family;2° A list of those family…

A foreign national applying for family reunification shall submit supporting documents in support of their application, the list of which is set by order annexed to this code.
