Applications for residence permits not included in the list mentioned in Article R. 431-2 are made in Paris, at the Préfecture de Police and, in the other départements, at the préfecture or sous-préfecture. The Prefect may also prescribe that applications for residence permits belonging to the categories he determines be sent by post.
